  1. Collect the baselines (databases on monitoring / historic data)
  2. Select biodiversity indicators:
  3. Statistically test with the baseline data which of the above factors are good indicators of (changes in) biodiversity at the temporal and spatial scale chosen. Beside biodiversity indicators, this evaluation may give an idea of the scale and rate of change
  4. For a prediction (prognosis) perform the proper modelling
  5. Perform surveys according to protocols
